Terms, No-Trespass & Privacy
The short version
- Maps are not permission. Habitat polygons, parcel lines, boundaries, colors, scores and pins never give you access to land or water, a route to get there, or permission to hunt it. Get permission, follow posted signs, closures and every state and federal rule, and never trespass.
- Models are not guarantees. Habitat roles and DT-Doppler are research models built from public records. They are not live duck counts, and they can be wrong.
- Your private data stays yours. Waypoints, trips, photos and notes are private to you by default. DeltaTrax never sells them or blends them into public layers. You share only by a direct grant to one buddy, and you can revoke it instantly.
- You can leave any time. Delete your account and private data from More → Delete my account & private data whenever you want.
No-trespass and safe hunting
- You are responsible for knowing whose land and water you are on, getting permission, and following posted signs, closures, refuges, seasons, bag limits, license and stamp rules, and all state and federal law.
- DeltaTrax does not give directions or turn-by-turn navigation to any polygon, parcel or pin. Do not use it to find a way onto property you do not have permission to hunt.
- An NWI wetland outline is a mapped boundary, not a field survey. A dike label describes the mapped record and our field notes, not a guarantee of current conditions.
- Check weather, tides, water levels, your boat and your safety gear yourself before you go. Hunting and boating carry real risk.
Terms of use
- DeltaTrax is provided as-is while it is in crew testing. Features can change, pause or be removed.
- Do not try to reach anyone else’s private data, bulk-download or copy the map data, or share a crew passcode outside your crew.
- The habitat models, DT-Doppler and “The Science Behind the App” presentation are WDG Consulting and DeltaTrax work. Public data stays credited to its owners, including the USFWS National Wetlands Inventory, NOAA, NASA, USGS and SCDNR.
- AI Hunt Plans are a small capped pilot. Answers can be wrong. Check them against the regulations and the conditions in front of you.
What we store
- Your sign-in identity (account ID and email), so your private records stay tied to you.
- Only what you choose to save: waypoints, trip and scout reports, gear, boats, profile and license details, gear photos, buddy invitations and grants, hunt groups, history links, report-plan requests, and AI Hunt Plan questions and answers.
- Gear photos are prepared on your device before upload. DeltaTrax rejects any photo that still carries camera metadata such as GPS tags.
- Your phone’s location is used on your device to show where you are when you tap Locate. It is not saved unless you save a waypoint.
- To slow down passcode guessing, failed crew-access attempts are counted with a one-way hash of the network address, never the address itself.
Who else sees anything
- Map tiles, imagery and radar load from Mapbox, NASA, NOAA and Iowa State’s mesonet. Like any website, those services see your network address and the map area being loaded.
- When you ask for a forecast or tides, the point you are looking at is sent to the National Weather Service or NOAA to get it.
- Only when you use AI Hunt Plans: your question and the planning context needed to answer it go to OpenAI to write the plan.
- Only if you link AppSheet history: Google confirms which Google account is yours.
What we never do
- Sell, rent or trade your data, or share it with advertisers.
- Blend your private records into public layers, research data or another hunter’s map.
- Give a group, a buddy’s buddy or anyone else access you did not grant directly. Revoking a grant takes effect on the next read.
Deleting your account and data
- In the map, open More → Delete my account & private data, review the counts, type DELETE and confirm.
- That permanently deletes your waypoints, trip and scout reports, gear, boats, profile and license details, gear photos, buddy links and the grants on them, hunt groups, history links and saved AI plans.
- What stays: payment and report-allowance receipts needed for accounting (with your email removed) and the anonymous AI spending total that enforces the test cap (with your questions and answers erased). Records other hunters own stay with them.
- Your sign-in account itself is managed by its provider. To stop map access on one device, use More → Lock crew access on this device.
Changes
If these terms change, DeltaTrax asks you to agree again before the map opens. DeltaTrax is built for adult hunters and is not directed to children under 13.
